Moa Romanova: Paniikkiprinsessa

Enki Bilal: Tapaamme Pariisissa – Kolmas näytös

Hiukan fanaattiselta vaikuttava fani Keijo Punkkari ottaa biisin sanoman kirjaimellisesti ja lähtee leikkaamaan Bullilta päätä.

Hän, tai kukaan muukaan, ei valitettavasti ole hoksannut, että pään irtoaminen vapauttaa oman tietoisuutensa kehittäneen niskan. Niska päättää irtautua (myös itsenäisesti toimivasta) päättömästä ruumista. Hommat eskaloituvat melko apokalyptiselle tasolle, kun tuhoa levittävä ruumis ja voimiaan keräävä / armeijaa rakentava niska kulkevat tahoillaan kohti vääjäämätöntä välienselvittelyä.

Jeesus on hiukan raamatullinen skeittausjutska.

Sarjakuvassa skeitti on artifakteista ja akteista jumalaisin, jota jo Aatami ja Eeva ovat paratiisisa kurittaneet.
Skeitistä tykkäävät kaikki Saatanaa myöten, mutta jossain kohtaa skeittaus joutuu fundamentalistien keppihevoseksi ja hommasta lähtee maku.

Silloin vanha vihtahousu on tosiuskovaisten tukena, kun fariseusten väärät skeittiopit pitää häätää suoraan käärmetarhaan, johon ne kuuluvatkin.

Tiitu Takalo: Memento Mori

Suomalaisen sarjakuvan huippuihin kuuluva piirtäjä ja tarinankertoja Tiitu Takalo kertoo koskettavan omakohtaisen tarinan sairastumisesta vakavasti.

Memento mori on Tiitu Takalon yli 200-sivuinen, omaelämäkerrallinen nelivärisarjakuva siitä, miten hän sai täysin odottamatta aivoverenvuodon 38-vuotiaana.

Teos on dramaattinen kertomus ihmisen elämän täydellisestä mullistumisesta yhdessä yössä – sairastumisesta, sairaanhoidosta ja pitkästä toipumisajasta, joka johti sarjakuvataiteilijan pohtimaan laajemminkin elämän tarkoitusta ja omaa paikkaansa maailmassa.
Kaunis ja riipaiseva tarina avautuu Takalon upean maalauksellisina sarjakuvasivuina.

Pauli Kallio & Christer Nuutinen: Kramppeja & nyrjähdyksiä – Antisankaritarinoita aikuisille

Antisankaritarinoita aikuisille on seitsemäs ja viimeinen Suomen Kuvalehdessä ilmestyneiden Kramppien & nyrjähdysten kokoelma.

Kuvalehden jaksojen lisäksi kirja sisältää kymmenkunta sivua uusia sarjakuvia.
Tanjan, Riston ja Eliaksen kesäretki sujuu suunnitelmien mukaan eläinpuistossa ja taidemuseossa, kunnes kotimatkalla sekopäinen vauhtihirmu on lopettaa lomailun kuin seinään.
Syksymmällä Tanja ja Risto tajuavat, että heidän esikoisensa on aika polkaista esikouluun. Basisti Kimmo ottaa asiakseen ryhdistäytyä Kadunlakaisijat-yhtyeen rytmiseksi selkärangaksi.

Tuisku Hiltunen: Kuutamo ja muita kertomuksia

Tuisku Hiltusen (s. 1995) esikoisalbumi sisältää kolme herkkävireistä sarjakuvanovellia.

Nimisarja käsittelee kahden miehen suhdetta ja sijoittuu nykyaikaan sekä kuolemanjälkeiseen elämään.
Yli meren seilaa purjelaivojen aikakaudelle.
Pakolliset päivitykset lentää tulevaisuuteen, jossa avaruusmatkailu on arkipäivää.

Kertomukset sijoittuvat eri aikakausiin, ne on luotu eri tarkoituksiin, eri aikoina ja erilaisissa tunnetiloissa. Niiden ei ollut tarkoitus päätyä samoihin kansiin, mutta toisin kävi.
Tarinoista löytyi yhtäläisyyksiä, jotka nivovat niistä kokonaisuuden. Kaikki kolme kertovat rakastetuksi tulemisen tarpeesta, kiintymyksestä, velvollisuudentunnosta ja kutsumuksesta.
Ne kuvaavat mutkikkaita ihmissuhteita, joita rakkaus ei tee yhtään helpommiksi.

Pauli Kallio: Mutta suurin on rakkaus

Mutta suurin on rakkaus näyttää rakkauden monet kasvot ja vaihtelevat ilmeet.

Rakkaus on nuori tai vanha, saavuttamaton unelma tai osa jokapäiväistä arkea, täynnä elämää tai kuolleempi kuin jäinen jalkakäytävä.
Se voi olla kahden ihmisen suhde tai useamman osallisen soppa, sisarusten tai lapsen ja vanhemman välinen side.

Jokainen meistä määrittelee rakkauden eri tavalla, mutta silti tiedämme, mistä puhumme, kun puhumme rakkaudesta.

Pauli Kallio kirjoitti yksitoista tarinaa rakkaudesta tai sen puutteesta ja etsi niille yhtä monta piirtäjää. He ovat Mari Ahokoivu, Maria Björklund, Juliana Hyrri, Wolf Kankare, Mika Lietzén, Aino Louhi, Eeva Meltio, Emmi Nieminen, Viivi Rintanen, Aino Sutinen ja Jussi Waltameri. Joukossa on sekä tuttuja suomalaisen sarjakuvan eturivin tekijöitä että nousevia tähtiä.

JP Ahonen: Villimpi Pohjola – Lapsus

JP Ahonen kuvaa kolmannessa Villimpi Pohjola -albumissaan aikuisuuden kynnyksellä rimpuilevien ikiopiskelijoiden absurdia arkea lämmöllä ja huumorilla, johon on helppo uppoutua.

Matti Nieminen & Anssi Rauhala: Väinö I – Suomen kuningas

Vuosi 1918 oli rauhaton koko Euroopassa.

Myös Suomessa mylläsivät poliittiset ristiriidat, itsenäisyysjulistusta oli seurannut tuhoisa sisällissota. Tietyissä piireissä heräsi ajatus tehdä Suomesta kuningaskunta, luoda kansalle johtajahahmo joka palauttaisi maan raiteilleen.

Hessenin prinssi Friedrich Karl sai hämmentävän sähkeen. Hänelle tarjottiin kuninkaan virkaa lähes tuntemattomassa maassa. Kareilla oli läheiset välit Saksan johtoon, olihan hän naimisissa Margarethen, keisari Vilhelm II:n sisaren kanssa. Myönteinen päätös ottaa kuninkuus vastaan syntyi nopeasti, mutta sitten… Suomi ei saanut kuningasta, kuten tiedetään.
Vähemmän on puhuttu siitä, mitä tapahtui kulisseissa, mitä Friedrich itse ajatteli lyhyen mutta kiihkeän ja arvaamattoman arvonnousunsa aikana? Tästä kertoo Rauhalan ja Niemisen sarjakuvateos Väinö 1 – Suomen kuningas.

Kuoleman usvaa ja pimeyttä on ensimmäinen tietokirja, joka pureutuu kattavasti suomalaisen kauhukirjallisuuden historiaan.

Jo Zacharias Topelius oli omana aikanaan merkittävä kauhukirjailija, mutta myös Aleksis Kiven, Mika Waltarin ja Aino Kallaksen tuotannosta löytyy kauhua.
Juri Nummelin selvittää teoksessaan kotimaisen kauhun moninaiset vaiheet.
Kauhugenreen mahtuu niin viihdelukemistoja kuin taiteellisesti kunnian­himoisia ja kokeilevia teoksiakin. Kirja nostaa myös esiin monia marginaaliin jääneitä kotimaisen kauhun tekijöitä eri vuosikymmeniltä.
