Petri Hiltunen: Praedor – Varjo menneisyydestä
Praedorin 40-vuotisjuhla-albumi kertoo Ferronin viimeisen seikkailun!
Seikkailtuaan vuosikausia Ferron ja hänen puolisonsa Tina ovat lopultakin saaneet tarpeekseen vaaroista ja asettuneet asumaan Jaconian pääkaupunkiin Farrigniaan.
Rauhallinen arki ei kuitenkaan kestä ikuisesti. Kirotun maan voi jättää taakseen, mutta menneisyyttä ei pääse niin helposti pakoon.
Omaa menneisyyttään. Ystäviensä menneisyyttä. Koko Jaconian menneisyyttä!
Tahtomattaan Ferron joutuu lähtemään vielä kerran matkaan, kohti tuntematonta määränpäätä. Sen tien päässä odottaa varjo, jonka kaltaista edes kokenut Praedor ei ole koskaan saattanut kuvitella!
Praedor on Petri Hiltusen luoma sarjakuva, joka sijoittuu Jaconian fantasiamaailmaan.
Praedorit ovat sotureita, jotka etsivät aarteita Borvariasta, hirviöiden kansoittamilta alueilta. Ferron on heistä maineikkain.
Praedorista on tehty myös suosittu roolipeli (joka täyttää 25 vuotta) sekä mm. novellikokoelmia, romaaneja ja oheistuotteita.
Ensimmäinen Praedor-seikkailu tehtiin v. 1985 ja julkaistiin Conan-lehdessä.
Juan Diaz Canales & Ruben Pellejero: Corto Maltese – Elämänviiva
1920-luvun lopulla Corto Maltese palkataan Meksikoon tehtävänään neuvotella antiikkiesineiden hankkiminen häikäilemättömälle arkeologille.
Mutta kuten aina ei kaikki suju suunnitelmien mukaan vaan Corto vedetään mukaan salakuljettamaan aseita katolisille kapinallisille, jotka taistelevat hallitusta vastaan.
Corto löytää kapinallisten joukosta kaksi vanhaa tuttavaansa, munkki Rasputinin ja irlantilaisen Banshee O`Dannan.
Elämänviiva on Hugo Prattin henkeen ja tyyliin piirretty laadukas sarjakuvaseikkailu.

Harry Harrison & Dan Barry: Flash Gordon – Tehtävä Plutossa
Dan Barry piirsi Tarzan-sarjakuva sanomalehtiin 1940-luvun lopulla ja vuonna 1951 hänet palkattiin piirtämään suosittua Flash Gordon scifi-sarjaa.
Vuonna 1967 hän sai myös sunnuntaisarjan piirrettäväkseen.
Hän piirsi niitä vuoteen 1990 saakka. Suomessa sarjakuvaa julkaisriin uudessa Suomessa vuosikymmenten ajan ja sarjailmestyi myös muissa sanomalehdissä ja sarjakuvajulkaisuissa.
Sarjaa käsikirjoittivat useat tekijät ja vuonna 1967-1970 hän kirjoitti tämän albumin sarjat, joita pidetään juoniltaa parhaina Flash Gordonin pitkässä julkaisuhistoriassa.
Tähän kirjaan on valittu kaikki Barry-Harrisonin yhteistyösssä tekemät sunnuntaisarjat. Ne tapahtuvat valtaosin Pluto planeetalla.
Flash Gordonia pidetään yhtenä parhaimmista scifi-sarjakuvista.
Kirjan seikkailuja ei ilmeisesti ole julkaistu aikaisemmin Suomessa.
Tuoni Myllylä & Tuuli Hypén: Jumala koneesta
Jumalaisin voimin valaistussa kaupungissa valmistellaan perinteikästä juhlaa, jossa sankarit kerääntyvät ottamaan mittaa toisistaan suurella taisteluareenalla.
Vähän ennen tapahtumaa Valon veljeskunnan pyhä äiti saa pahaenteisen näyn: Jumala herää ja sankarit kuolevat! Jumala koneesta!
Tuoni Myllylän ja Tuuli Hypénin sarjakuvauutuudessa kohtaamme tekijöiden aiemmista albumeista tuttuja hahmoja kuten Ripkin ja Thurinn. Veijaritarina on täynnä nekromantiaa, vedonlyöntiä, vehkeilyä, kultisteja ja liivatetta!
Tuoni Myllylä on turkulainen sarjakuvataiteilija ja loputtomien tarinanjuurien takoja.
Jumala koneesta sijoittuu Tuonin luomaan fantasiamaailmaan Alwoeriniin. Siellä on seikkailtu myös albumeissa Jumalsurma 1-3, Alhaiset ja Kuoleman pidot.
Tuuli Hypén on turkulainen sarjakuvantekijä ja kuvittaja.
Hänen hahmonsa Darrol ja Ripkin vierailevat jo toista kertaa Alwoerinissa. Tuulin mielestä roolipelaaminen ja piirtäminen ovat parasta elämässä – ja tämä sarjakuvaprojekti yhdistää molemmat asiat!
Frank Miller & John Romita Jr.: Batman – Yön ritari: Viimeinen ristiretki
Frank Millerin eläköityneestä Batmansta kertova Yön ritari on sarjakuvan klassikkoja.
Nyt Miller paljastaa viimein, millainen tapahtumaketju sai Batmanin vetäytymään.
Rankan rikostarinan on kuvittanut mestarillisesti John Romita Jr, ja se julkaistaan nyt suomeksi ensimmäistä kertaa.

Katja Tukiainen: Pieni ja tylsä kirja (K50)
Mammografia, mielikuvituskives ja viimeinen munasolu.
Tämä on Katja Tukiaisen (s.1969) yhdeksäs sarjakuvakirja.
Tukiainen on palkittu kuvataiteilija, taidemaalari, sarjakuvataiteilija ja kuvataiteen tohtori.
Hän alkoi kertoa omaelämäkerrallisia tarinoita sarjakuvan ja maalaustaiteen keinoin jo 1990-luvun alussa.
Tukiaiselle myönnettiin Suomen sarjakuvaseuran Puupäähattu-palkinto vuonna 2003 ja muotoilun valtionpalkinto sarjakuvataiteellisesta työstään vuonna 2007.
William Thuring -nimikkopalkinnon hän sai kuvataiteellisesta työstään vuonna 2011.
Kuvataiteen tohtoriksi hän valmistui keväällä 2022.
Tämä kirja kertoo keski-iästä ja vaihdevuosista reippaasti ja runollisesti. Hyppää kuumalle aallolle! Alle 50-vuotiaille vain vanhempien seurassa.

Kustantamo Editions Cambourakis julkaisi Pedot Ranskassa vuonna 2017 nimellä “Animaux”.

For many years, the world of cartoons and comics was seen as a male preserve.
The reality is that women have been drawing and publishing cartoons for longer than most people realise.
In the early 1760s, Mary Darly illustrated, wrote and published the first book on caricature drawing published in England, A Book of Caricaturas.
In the nineteenth century, Britain’s first comic character, Ally Sloper, was developed by the actress and cartoonist Marie Duval (1847–1890).
Cartoons were used by the suffragettes, and, during the Great War, artists such as Flora White and Agnes Richardson produced light-hearted propaganda comic postcards.
From the 1920s, a few women cartoonists began to appear regularly in newspapers.
The practise was for artists to sign with their surname, so most readers were unaware of the cartoonist’s gender.
In 1920, Mary Tourtel created Rupert Bear for the Daily Express, and nearly a hundred years later her character is still going strong.
From the 1960s, feminism inspired cartoonists to question the roles assigned to them and address subjects such as patriarchy, equal rights, sexuality and child-rearing, previously unseen in cartoons.
Over the last thirty years, women have come increasingly to the fore in comics, zines and particularly graphic novels.
This wide-ranging curation of women’s comics work includes prints, caricatures, joke, editorial and strip cartoons, postcards, comics, zines, graphic novels and digital comics, covering all genres and topics. It addresses the inclusion of art by women of underrepresented backgrounds.
