Kati Rapia: Voimia!

Karoliina Korhonen: Pocket Matti

Supersuosittu Finnish Nightmares tekee paluun!

Kirjojen Matti-hahmo on tuonut kiinan kieleen jopa uuden sanan jingfen, joka tarkoittaa ”henkisesti suomalaista”.

Tarinoita Muinaisesta Pohjolasta – Fabulae

“Tarinoita Muinaisesta Pohjolasta” sisältää tarinoita sijoittuen Pohjolan ja Itämeren ympäristön myyttiseen keskiaikaan.

Sarjakuvan tematiikkaan kuuluu muuttuvan maailman tarkastelu lineaarisen, historiallisen maailman ja syklisen, myyttisen maailman välisellä rajapinnalla.

Tarinoita Muinaisesta Pohjolasta – Fabulae sisältää kolme itsenäistä sarjakuvatarinaa.

Vuzz is a warrior.

A looter who has simple needs in life: to fight, to eat and to make love.
Vuzz lives in a world where ruined cities are home to zombies, giant rabbits, and salacious wizards.

A world where everything is desolation and uncertainties. A world where Vuzz can ultimately only count on himself. Which suits him just fine…

Featured in stunning black and white, this story is deliberately offbeat and almost humorous; utilizing a stripped-down narration and minimalist illustrations.

In the works of Philippe Druillet, Vuzz is a character like no other!

“A refreshingly modern and surprisingly poignant take on the Hades and Persephone myth . . . steamy, often laugh-out-loud funny, and emotional.”-Jennifer L. Armentrout, #1 New York Times bestselling author of From Blood and Ash

“It is natural for a King to be curious about his future Queen. . . .”

All of Olympus-and the Underworld-are talking about the God of the Dead and the sprightly daughter of Demeter. But despite the rumors of their romance, Hades and Persephone have plenty to navigate on their own.

Since coming to Olympus, Persephone has struggled to be the perfect maiden goddess.
Her attraction to Hades has only complicated the intense burden of the gods’ expectations.

And after Apollo’s assault, Persephone fears she can no longer bury the intense feelings of hurt and love that she’s worked so hard to hide.

As Persephone contemplates her future, Hades struggles with his past, falling back into toxic habits in Minthe’s easy embrace.
With all the mounting pressure and expectations-of their family, friends, and enemies-both Hades and Persephone tell themselves to deny their deepest desires, but the pull between them is too tempting, too magnetic. It’s fate.

This full-color edition of Smythe’s original Eisner-nominated webcomic Lore Olympus brings Greek mythology into the modern age in a sharply perceptive and romantic graphic novel.

Meillä on paljon opittavaa Oskarilta.

Kuvitus on nuoren ja taitavan 11-vuotiaan Koiton käsialaa. Tämä upea nuori mies saa muovailuvahan elämään.

Dave Sim & David Birdsong: Hell ‘O Dali #1

Although Salvador Dali died in 1989, it’s taken more than 30 years for him to “Clear Customs” into the Infernal Realms (face it: “Where Do We Put This Guy” is one of those unsolvable conundrums “down under”).

Anyway, You Are There as the legendary surrealistic Catalan painter – and his ocelot, Babou (Babou is appealing his sentence BTW) – gets a little taste of his own medicine in his earliest experiences in the Afterlife.

Freak us out? No, no, no, Senor Dali. Freak you out!

Ville Hänninen: Käännekohta – Kansitaiteen nousu 1950-60-luvuilla

Käännekohta kuvaa suomalaisten kirjankansien yhtä kultakautta Martti Mykkäsen ja Ahti Levosen tuotannon kautta.

Mykkänen (1926-2008) oli graafikko, Lavonen (1928-1970) kuvataiteilija. Kumpaakin ajoi ilmaisun vapaus.
